After losing dozens of close friends and family to addiction something had to change. Looking at growing trend we knew "you are either part of the problem or part of the solution." Reeling for Recovery idea was founded that winter and am excited to bring you one of the largest ice fishing contests in upstate NY. All proceeds will be donated to the Champlain Valley Family Center in Plattsburgh NY. Not only are they one of the only rehabilitation centers in upstate New York but have hundreds of success stories. After several meetings it was apparent to see that although they were out to do good, they needed more help. The Champlain Valley Family center is one of the only places currently, that an opioid addict can go to detox in the brand new state of the art facility and then attend a comprehensive recovery program within the same program. Why is this important you may ask? Before we would send an addict to a facility to recovery then release to find alternative treatment program. You can see the disconnect there and the Champlain Valley Center had a better strategy. All proceeds will be going to help fun three different area's: summer children's programs, scholarship program for a recovery addict that has proven themselves and lastly to help create more effective programs to help those out there in need.

Our goal is to not only give you one of the most family fun ice fishing contest but also make a stand against the drug addiction that has plagued New England. Weather you have entered just about every ice fishing contest out there or are picking up a tip up for the first time we invite you to com take part of one of the best causes in NY. All proceeds will be going to aid local people in your community.

In 2019 we have over 197 anglers that raised close to $7,000 dollars for this organization. The CVFC was able to conduct an intake program during their summer program and reach more youth then they ever have. This year we are looking to do more for the kids of the Adirondacks and host more fishing related programs. Please come participate in our event this year and raise money for a great cause!
