Q: IF I CAN’T FIND MY WRISTBAND HOW CAN I GET A NEW ONE?
A: There will be a registration table setup the night before/Day of at the Sorrell Woodward American Legion 3909 Rt 374 Lyon Mountain NY. Please stop in and we will get you re-register if need be.
Q: WHAT TIME CAN I START FISHING?
A: 5:00 AM, when the flares do off from each weigh in station at the lake
Q: CAN I CHECK THE DEPTH?
A: Yes, BUT only with line without a hook. All lines must be out of the water by 4:45 AM until the start of the official start.
Q: WHEN DOES THE CONTEST END?
A: 4:00 PM the flares will end the contest. You will have until 4:15 PM to get to the VFW with any late entries. Judges will determine eligibility of fish brought in after official tournament has ended. REMEMBER: fish must be brought to the judges’ stand immediately when caught and alive. Decaying fish or frozen lakers will be ineligible.
Q: WHEN CAN I SETUP?
A: You can setup as early as you like or the day before but cannot have the physical lines in the water until the flares have gone off in the morning.
Q: CAN I PRE-FISH?
A: NO. You will be disqualified..
Q: I CAN’T FIND MY TICKET, CAN I STILL FISH?
A: NO! All contestants must have a legal ticket in plain view on their person. Please see tournament director for help in locating your ticket. Additional tickets can be picked up at the “Info Booth” located at the entrance area of the contest.
Q: CAN WE BRING OUR OWN FOOD?
A: YES, However food will be available for purchase at the event.
Q: DO I NEED A FISHING LICENSE?
A: YES, Fishing during the contest is regulated by all NYS DEC Fishing Laws. To participate and win any tournament prizes you must have a NYS fishing license. We do NOT sell licenses on the ice to you must purchase one ahead of time.
Q: CAN I BRING A COOLER ONTO THE ICE?
A: YES, coolers will be allowed; we highly recommend you bring a cooler or large tote so you will have a live well to transporting qualifying fish in.
Q: I CAUGHT TWO FISH. SHOULD I REGISTER BOTH?
A: You may register as many fish as you like. However, only the largest fish you register will count.
Q: DO YOU HAVE BAIT FOR SALE?
A: NO! But we encourage you to purchase from local shops found on our registration page.
Q: CAN I LEAVE EARLY?
Q: ARE TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE THE DAY OF THE CONTEST?
A: Only if we have not sold out 1000 tickets for the event. Any additional tickets will be available at the weigh in shanty.
Q: WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH THE MONEY?
A: All of the money raised will be being used by the Champlain Valley Family Center for a childrens summer camps program and scholarship fund.
Q: CAN I TAKE MY PRIZE HOME WITH ME?
A: YES, you prize is now your responsibility. Please use waste receptacles for your garbage.
